Illegal Sump Pump Hook Up Cause Flooding

Recent flooding in Plain City, UT, Farr West, UT, Pleasant View, UT and North Ogden, UT may have been worsened by residents illegally hooking up their sump pumps to the sewer lines.

According to officials, the flooding was caused by a wet winter and illegal sump pump hookups, which residents, often ignorantly, hooked up to the sewer rather than the storm drain.

This is an important reminder to have pumps installed by a professionals and to have regular systems checks done on the pumps.
